If you ever find yourself interested in fibre arts, specifically fibre arts through the lense of women's (and some queer) history Women's Work; The First 20 000 Years by Eliza the Wayland Barber and The Subversive Stitch by Rozsika Parker are AMAZING! It probably time for a re-read on my end!
Yes I’m absolutely interested! I’m getting into cultivating my own personal style and I would love to pick up more books on the history behind clothing and textiles! Thank you!!
Yes! I’m sorry I didn’t do a full list of the titles in the video, it was pushing 10 minutes and I know trying to write anything down must’ve been frustrating!
Thanks for sharing, I’m always looking for more nonfiction to add to my tbr. I recommend A Naked Singularity by Sergio De La Pava. It’s fiction but it’s so good!
I was very burnt out on reading nonfiction from too much school-it still felt like homework. I stopped feeling that way this year. Looking forward to more recs! ✨
would love to hear your take on “the culture of narcissism,” i know nothing abt the book but the low rating stood out to me!!!
one of my favorite nonfiction books of all time is jon krakauer’s “into thin air,” it’s so captivating so i always recommend it. i also think you would really like donna haraway’s works!
i wonder if you would like the book crazy like us? i read it for my anthropology of mental health class and it was incredibly eye opening. its about how different cultures experience mental illness and how their symptoms might be different than ours because of their culture
I'm curious what made you rate "The Culture of Narcissism" 1 star? I just noticed every book is 3+ stars except that one. Would you mind sharing your thoughts? Just curious if it was more along the lines of a problematic narrative or bad writing?
Wow! We're kindred spirits! I read about the same proportion of non-fiction to fiction. This is a great list--I'm copying it to my own notes to look into. Thanks!

Hi, how do you actually start reading and how do you pick your next book after finishing one book? What keeps you motivated to read more books?

Can’t wait to read some of these! Recommend: paychocybernetics by Maxwell maltz and infinite possibilities by Mike Dooley
Best books this year: Youngblood Hawke, New York Trilogy, The Mezanine, Phigod 402, Disturbance of sleep. These are treasures with beautiful writing.
